Central Pacific Bank - C.A.T.C.H.
Fund Awarded to WCC

Waikiki
Community Center received $4,100 from Central Pacific Bank's
C.A.T.C.H. (Citizens Against
Troublemakers and Criminals in Hawaii) 2009 Fund to
replace a40+ year old security gates and locks for their Early
Education Center.
Inspired by the success of the KSSK
Posse radio program, the Central Pacific Bank C.A.T.C.H. Fund was
created 15 years ago to support a grassroots effort to make Hawaii a
better place to live. For every crime incident resolved by the KSSK
Posse, Central Pacific Bank donates $1,000 into the C.A.T.C.H.
Fund.
The Waikiki Community Center Early
Education Center has provided quality and nurturing early childhood
education to over 100 young children, ages 6 weeks old to 5 years
old, annually since 1978. The mission of this program is to provide
young children, from infants to preschoolers with developmentally
appropriate opportunities to build their cognitive, social, physical
and language skills to become successful learners in kindergarten
and beyond. National research documents that 80% of learning takes
place in the first 5 years of a child's life. Ninety-five (95%) of
WCC's students meet the developmental milestones for their age and
school-readiness.
Waikiki Community Center, a 501(c)(3)
nonprofit is dedicated to caring for the people of Waikiki through
quality programs and services. For more information on our Early
Education Center, Senior or Community Programs and classes, please

2007

On Thursday, May 31, 2007
we were blessed by DFS executives from around the world and their
Honolulu staff who worked around the clock to complete this Work Day
Project for Waikiki Community Center. All supplies and labors
of love were donated by DFS and their hard working staff! Our
five Child Care classrooms were completely renovated with new
decorations, educational supplies, paint, carpet, bulletin boards
and so much more! The auditorium and lanai has a completely new
look, check it out on your next visit!
Mahalo again DFS, we
sincerely appreciate your support and partnership for our
community!
