 Join WCC and others at the 13th Annual PrimeTime Wellness Fair on Thursday, March 29 at the Neal Blaisdell Exhibition Hall starting at 8:30 a.m.  Lots of great health screenings, entertainment, activities, seminars and prizes!  Admission is free. 

Free Health Screenings:  Glucose & Cholesterol, blood pressure, hearing, breasts cancer risk assessment, massage therapy, dental checks, foot screenings and more!  All FREE! 

Also…  Free Kupuna IDs, Ask a Pharmacist, Health Informational Booths, Pottery and Craft Demonstrations, Games, Bingo and Door Prizes.

UKULELE CLASSES

 WCC offers Ukulele Classes.  Register early!

1)       Ukulele Hawaiian Style with John Signor  10 week session, on Fridays.  February 28 to May 11, 9-11 a.m.  Singing, dancing and playing ukulele to Hawaiian music.  Must have previous ukulele experience.    No class on April 6 and 13th.  $4 for members and $7 for non members or $30/$50 for full 10 week session.  Register now.  Once this session ends, no further classes till June.

2)  Beginning Ukulele with Art Wong has been cancelled by Kapiolani Community School for Adults. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope to resume Beginning Ukulele in the near future.    (Return to top)

 LET’S SPEAK ENGLISH CLASSES

March 5 to 28, 2007,  1-3 p.m. #201E, Mon.—Thurs.

 Want to improve your English?  Join this “Let’s Speak English” class scheduled March 5 to 28th, 1-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday.  Must be able to converse and understand a little English.  Class size limited to 15 students.  Register at WCC today.  $75 for 15 classes or $10 a class, space permitting.

 ROYAL HAWAIIAN BAND RETURNS TO WCC FOR CONCERT SERIES

 The Royal Hawaiian Band returns to WCC for a series of concerts on the following dates.  Please join us on these Wednesdays at  10-11 a.m. for these special

concerts in the WCC Auditorium.  Bring your friends and enjoy the melodies and dance of this great band.  These are free concerts sponsored by the C&C of Honolulu and Royal Hawaiian Band. (Return to top)

SCOTLAND’S GREAT HIGHLAND BAGPIPE

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day and the Celtic Nations, come hear the pipes of Hardy Spoehr on Friday, March 16, 12:45 p.m.  Hardy is also the author of “Upoho Uka Nui ‘O Kekokia, Scotland’s Great Highland Bagpipe.”  His book traces the history of the bagpipes from its introduction into Hawaii to present day pipers and pipe bands. SING-A-LONG WITH GEOFFREY BOEHM

WAIKIKI WALKING TOUR WITH PALAKIKO

Friday, April 6, 9am-11:30 a.m. $25/$35

Includes lunch at Sheraton Waikiki

Take a guided walking tour with Palakiko and ‘re-discover” historical Waikiki through the many traditions, myths and legends of our home.  Wear comfortable shoes, bring water, sun-block, hat/visors are suggested.  Includes lunch at Sheraton Waikiki.  Meet at 9am at WCC office.  Register early, limited to 14 guests only.  No refunds once booked.  (Return to top)

BOARD OF WATER—EWA BEACH

Thursday, April 26, 8am-1:15 p.m.

 Walk through the Ewa Beach Board of Water facility and view a water recycling video.  Long pants and covered shoes are mandatory.  No high heels or sandals allowed or you will be turned away.  No host lunch at Coral Creek Golf Course.  $6 for members and $10 for non members.  Register by 4/13/06.  Bus leaves from WCC at 8am promptly.   

U.S. COAST GUARD TOUR & LUNCH

Thursday, May 3rd, $5/$10

9 a.m.-1:15 p.m., No host buffet lunch $5 

Visit the US Coast Guard Station at Sand Island.  Bus (limited to 45 passengers) will depart WCC at 9am and return by 1:15 p.m.  Tour of the U.S. Coast Guard station at Sand Island.  $5 for members and $10 for non members.  Lunch is no-host, $5 for buffet.  Register by 4/25.  Remember, no refunds once paid.
