HAWAII HOTEL LODGING ASSOCIATIONS DONATES $5K

to support Malama Seniors in Waikiki

Malama Seniors in Waikiki helps hundreds of seniors each year with referrals, support and case management services.  For seniors and their caregivers, finding the right services to assist with challenges, identifying the right support systems, and contacting and explaining one’s situation can be very overwhelming!  A big mahalo to Hawaii Hotel Lodging Association for awarding $5,000.00 to support Waikiki Community Center Malama Seniors in Waikiki program and our social worker contract through Catholic Charities Hawaii.  Jiro Arase, licensed social worker, is at the Center every Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.  Call (808) 923-1802 to schedule a free appointment or stop by to see Barbara Cook in the Lounge.  We’re here to help with caring support and referral services.  This is a free service to our members.

END OF YEAR GIVING

CARING AND SUPPORTING WCC

During this time of Thanksgiving, we thank our loyal donors and friends who continue to support the good work at Waikiki Community Center.  Shortly, you will be receiving a letter from us asking your support for WCC’s programs and services.  Our Emergency Food Pantry continues to feed the hungry with non perishable foods.  Many of these are mothers with young children and older adults and struggling families trying to make ends meet.  Contributions also support our Malama Seniors in Waikiki program with case management and referral services so senior adults can continue to live independently.  Our Early Education Center prepares over 80 young children for kindergarten and provides tuition assistance to parents.  Our beneficiaries appreciate your caring support.

This is an extremely difficult time for many being served by Waikiki Community Center. As the need increases our requests for food, services and support also increases.  Our expenses and daily costs continue to rise for programs and services.  We make lives better for families, kupunas (senior adults), and children.  But, we can’t do it alone.

Please take the time to write your most generous check today and help launch a successful campaign.  You’ll find a donation envelope for your convenience.  Or call us at (808) 923-1802 with your credit card number to make a quick and secure donation over the phone.  Your contribution is greatly needed as we try to end the year on a positive note and begin planning for a successful 2011!

Also, please consider joining WCC special monthly giving group, Makana Fund to truly help where it’s needed most.  Monthly giving makes a difference and helps us provide needed programs for people in our community.  You can add, stop or change at any time with a quick phone call, starting at $10 a month.   Your gift truly makes a difference in the lives of those we serve!  Call Denice at 923-1802 to join this special club.  (Return to top)

Mahalo for your support.  Please return the enclosed envelope today.

We hope to hear from you with a favorable response.
