is Native American month.
We are honored to host an authentic Native American Pow Wow
to celebrate this occasion.
You will experience dancers dressed in full regalia, hear the
songs of their ancestors,learn their culture and history and taste
authentic cuisine. The
festivities will feature a drum group, local singers and
dancers. Michael
Running Wind will
sing and
Kady Ching are
the head dancers.
Join
us on Friday, November 2nd in the Waikiki Community Center
auditorium starting at 6:00 p.m. Free parking (space
available) on site, the event should end by 9:00 p.m. Purchase your tickets at WCC
office for only $15 which includes show and dinner.

Perry,
our new Office Clerk who joined us in October. She will be assisting with
members inquiries, class registration, membership and renewals,
phone calls, room scheduling, Food Pantry and general office
responsibilities.
She
resides in Waipahu and has 3 lovely children. She previously lived in Miami,
Florida. She has
enjoyed meeting our members and learning more about WCC programs and

Advance Health Care Directive
and What to do When Death Occurs
Wednesday,
November 21, 10 a.m, free, Aud.
Sarah
Robinson of Funeral Consumers Alliance Hawaii (FCA Hawaii) will lead
a workshop on
Wednesday, November 21 at 10 a.m.
in the auditorium on “Advance Health Care Directives and What to do
When Death Occurs”. Sarah is the current president for FCA Hawaii,
she is also a former nurse. She will cover the health care
directives line by line and will discuss what to do when death
occurs, both at home or in a hospital and whether the death was
sudden or anticipated.
There’s
always time for questions and concerns. Bring along paper for taking
notes as the information can get overwhelming. Handouts will be
supplied. FCA Hawaii is a non-profit organization with no products
to sell, only information to share.

& COOKING HINTS
Our
Senior Advisory Committee and WCC Staff are coordinating a Recipe
and Helpful Cooking Hints project to share easy tips & simple
recipes on cooking for one.
Submit your simple recipes and cooking hints by the 7th of
each month to Aura.
We’re looking for ‘simple’ recipes consisting of a maximum of
5 low cost ingredients and simple to prepare along with your helpful
