ALOHA, WILLIAM DEAN
HAWKINS
June
11, 1935—September 7, 2006
We were deeply saddened to learn that
Bill
Hawkins,
WCC’s former secretary, passed away on September 7, 2006. Bill retired from WCC in
June and planned to enjoy his retirement with friends and writing a
book about his interesting life and travels. Formal memorial
services were private to family members only, in accordance with
Bill’s final wishes.
Bill
had worked at WCC since 1999, first as a volunteer through the
Senior Citizen Special Employment Program (SCSEP) and then was hired
as a full-time employee.
He was the first person everyone saw at the WCC office and
the first person everyone talked to on the phone. His witty sense of humor and
interesting personality drew many people into his wide circle of
friends at WCC. He was
a valued member of the WCC team and is deeply missed. He was truly an inimitable
individual and all of us at WCC still feel a void. He left some big shoes to
fill!
Please
join us for a celebration of Bill’s life on Wednesday,
October 4, 10 a.m. in
WCC’s auditorium
If
you would like to bring a card or message for his family, we will
have a koa bowl in the front, and will send everything to his
family. Monetary gifts
should be made payable to:
Aloha Tenrikyo Church.
