Waikiki Community Center
is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing
multigenerational programs and social services to the people who
live, work, and visit Waikiki. Our
Early Education Center provides families with quality
education and care in a safe and nurturing environment by promoting
individual growth and development. meeting the needs of today’s
working parents, especially those who live or work in Waikiki’s 24/7
travel industry. We
promote individual growth and development and provide a variety of
developmentally appropriate skills that nurture social, emotional,
physical and cognitive
growth.
Waikiki Community Center Early

Hawaii located at 310 Paoakalani Avenue in the heart of

Educational Philosophy
Our mission is to provide families
with quality childcare in a safe and nurturing environment by
promoting individual growth and development. Our goal is to
prepare young children for lifelong learning by developing
fundamental skills to think creatively, to use all their senses, to
build self confidence, and grow physically, emotionally, cognitively
and socially. These
fundamental skills provide young children with the foundation to
become successful learners in kindergarten.

environment. To provide a variety

Child-Staff Ratio

Center's Early Education Center follows the child-staff ratio as
required by State of Hawaii group child care center licensing
standards:
- 2 Year
Olds
One teacher: 8 children
- 3 & 4 Year
Olds One
teacher: 12 children
Weekday
Program
The Weekday Program offers care for
children in three age levels: Toddlers and
preschoolers.
Hours: Monday thru Friday,
6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Registration Fee: $75.00 payable with your child's
application. Registration fee can be paid through credit card,
local (Honolulu) check, cash, money order, or traveler's
check. This is a non-refundable fee. Upon your agreement
to enroll your child in our porgram, payment of half of tuition must be submitted.
This advance payment will be credited towards your child's first
month of tuition.
Non-Hawaii resident fee - 1 month
enrollment required. Per DHS Licensing Regulations, our
extended day prgram is limited to 16
students.

Requirements
The following
requirements are needed before your child can start
school.
- Application Form with
applicable registration fees.
- Medical and Emergency Form,
Parent Handbook Acknowledgement Form, Photo and/or Story
Release form and Regular Outing Permission Form.
- Form 14 (Pupil's Health
Record), Physical, and TB clearance - must be completed in
Hawaii.
- TB must be done in Hawaii.
(Please allow at lease one month (30 days) to actual enrollment to
schedule and conduct a physical and TB test in Hawwaii).
- USDA Income Eligibility
Statement and Meal Benefit form.

Suggested
items to bring and/or to do:
- Change of clothes and a
plastic bag for soiled clothes.
- Small blanket or towel.
- If needed, diaper, pull-ups,
and wipes.
- Please label all of your
child's belongings with an indelible ink pen.
Out of
State Visitors
- Advance reservations are required (one month in
advance) and must meet all enrollment requirements listed
above. Form 14 may be obtained from any Health Care provider,
doctor's office or medical clinic. The physical and TB
(tuberculosis) clearance must be completed in the State of
Hawaii.

Our Staff
Waikiki Community
Center's Early Education Center staff have extensive experience and
training in early childhood education. Our teachers have
Bacehlor's degrees or Associates degrees in education or early
childhood education and meet the State of Hawaii requirements for
staff of licensed group child care centers.
Most of all, they care about each child
and provide a safe, nurturing educational environment to help your
child grow and develop to his or her fullest potential.
