Waikīkī Lights Gala

Presented by Waikīkī Community Center Thursday, August 27, 2026

at 'Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach

For over four decades, Waikīkī Community Center has been a steady light in our community — a place where keiki learn, kūpuna find connection, and neighbors facing hardship are met with dignity, care, and hope.

Through free preschool programs, senior services, food security initiatives, and spaces that bring people together, we work every day to ensure that our community remains healthy, engaged, and safe.

WAIKĪKĪ LIGHTS is our signature annual benefit — an evening that brings together those who believe in showing up for one another. It is a celebration of compassion in action and the extraordinary impact that happens when a community chooses to care.

💛 What Is the Gala For?

Funds raised at the Waikiki Lights Gala support programs that uplift our entire community:

  • Preschool for local keiki – now tuition-free thanks to WCC becoming the first private preschool in Hawai‘i to convert to a public charter

  • Wellness programs for kūpuna

  • Food and essential services for those facing hardship

WCC serves not only Waikīkī, but also families across Oʻahu who depend on these vital programs.

A Night to Honor and Celebrate

This year, we are honored to recognize leaders whose dedication strengthens

Waikīkī and beyond:

  • Glen Kanashige, President, Nordic PCL

  • Rick Egged, President, Waikīkī Improvement Association

  • Kelly Sanders, President, Highgate

Together, we gather not only to celebrate, but to ensure that this light continues to shine — for every child, every senior, and every neighbor who calls this community home.
